Congratulations, you’ve had your baby!.... Now what?             

During this class, a certified neonatal intensive care nurse, will help expectant parents build the skillset they need to prepare and care for their newborn baby. Topics include:     

              

  • The golden hour
  • Skin to skin comfort
  • How to bathe your newborn
  • First feeding
  • First bath
  • How to comfort a crying baby
  • How to care for umbilical cord and circumcision
  • How to choose a pediatrician
  • What medications are given in the hospital
  • Safe sleep
  • Newborn hearing test
  • Newborn metabolic testing
  • What to pack for the hospital


This class is intended for families who are delivering at Saint Joseph Hospital-Chicago. This will be a VIRTUAL class and will last for 2 hours.
